I own a 20' C/C, C Hawk boat with a 100hp. 4stroke outboard on it.
i would like to put a gill bracket on it but, I was wondering if i would have
to extend or buy a longer trailer for it.

I've read that a outboard should be set back 1" for every foot the boat is long.
does that sound rite ??

Thank you in advance, David

Re: Gill Bracket

I had a 19 ft.Baja with a Gil bracket with a 200 Mercury on it.It extended back no more than a foot. The boat sat on the trailer with the bunks supporting the transom. In other words the bunks extended slightly past the tramsom. Never had to worry about stress cracks with a Gil bracket thats for sure.
