I have been fighting my gimbal bearing for a few days on my Alpha One, Gen 2. So far I have used a slide hammer tool, broken two gimbal bearing extractor tools and drilled holes in the outside of the bearing to no avail. Also used Krill to try to loosen it up to no avail. Bugger is stuck! Any tips? Photo attached.

If the bearing doesn't come out straight away like yours did, it needs to be driven back in place. The bearing can **** slightly and start digging into the housing. So it needs to go back in to straighten it flat, then try to bring it back out.

Check for a groove inside

You do know the bearing and outer ring"tolerance ring" are removed as a unit.

I have tried the axel puller to no avail and tried pounding the bearing back in with the bearing install tool---nothing works! I realize the inner bearing and race come out together but somebody suggested to drill into the race to weaken the wall but it hasnt worked.

I finally got it out! Had to cut around the center race with a dremmel and then it chiseled out. That's the hardest one I ever had to get out and don't wish this job on my worst enemy!
