I pulled the drive to inspect everything and the gimbal bearing had a few small rough spots when turned by hand. Had the growling noise when turning hard before winter shut down. I have the bearing pulled and I am wondering if a new bearing carrier can be installed with the notches out. This would make it simple to install a new bearing unit in the future. Also wondering if anyone knows what the actual Link Belt bearing number is (not the Merc number).
