Gimbal bearing

1988 mercruiser 4.3 alpha 1( oyster white)
Changing gimbal bearing and bellows.
Question is ,
New bearing has dot at 12 0clock puts grease hole at 6 pm. My grease zerk is at 4 pm.
The slots on back are On Each side. Not on top and bottom.
Do I ignore the dot and put bearing grease hole in line with channel .
What purpose do the cut outs on the rear of bearing do.
My old bearing doesn't have dot anyway not one I can see.

Ayuh,.... Line up the grease holes, 'n drive it in,....

The slots are there so it can be assembled,...
