Hi there. I have worn hinge pins and steering shaft splines on my gimbal ring (74 mercruiser 140). I picked up an entire gimbal assembly from an older 165 mercruiser that is in good shape.<br />I've enclosed a picture that shows my old one on the left with two 3/4" holes and hard to see two 3/16" holes below the exhaust port. They don't seem to have any function. The replacement assembly on the right does not have those holes, just a cavity.<br />What's up with the holes? Will the replacement assembly work? Thanks<br /><br />
