Gimble Bearing grease

[worth the wake]

1996 Mercruiser MCM 5.7 LX EFI out drive Bravo 2.
Manual says to lube gimble bearing zerk fitting using Quicksilver U-joint and gimble bearing grease. My question is, can I purchase a substitute grease at an auto parts store. Thank you for your time.

Buying 1 tube of the correct grease for you yearly maintenance on your ujoints and gimbal bearings can't be that big of an expense.
As bondo's signature line says, "Any grease is better than no grease"

Don you are right . The cost of the grease is no problem, Just my oversight.
I will be shrink wrapping boat Sat. Sunday I will take to storage didn't think of Gimbel bearing grease. I guess I could order grease and go visit boat in the yard. Thanks again for your reply.
