So after purchasing my first boat I was told by just about everyone to replace the water pump impeller to make sure there is not a problem. Well, I pulled it down Saturday to do just that. Easy repair. The old impeller wasn't too bad, but I knew we weren't going boating on Sunday before the gear housing was more than 3"-4" down. The water pump housing was cracked in the area around the water tube seal! I started looking online and at our local Bass Pro for the part, hoping to have it ready for the weekend. Turns out Ascension Marine, about 1/4 mile from my work had the part in stock! I picked it up this morning and will have her back up and running this evening. Glad I took it apart before going on vacation next week!
