I rehabbed a fiberglass boat a year ago and wanted to do another on a better hull. Got a '81 18' inboard Glasply with a great hull. Gutted it, removed the Volvo and outdrive and will be adding an offshore bracket and a almost new Honda 115 HP LS. I have an aluminum 20' and I really like the ride of a fiberglass boat. Everything will be changed as far as controls and gauges. Is there a real premium to pay for Honda compatible gear? Next project will be to purchase helm steering system, will be going with standard cable (Teleflex) steering. Anything someone could add about the purchase of gauges etc and assoc. parts? Thanks 1981 Glasply.jpg

I am about 7 months into a rehab on a 17' Glasply, a popular NW boat from years gone by. They did a promotion at one point, dropping an18 footer I think from a helicopter to highlight the strength of their hulls. Mine had a Volvo inboard and wanted to add a bracket to give more dance floor for fishing. I searched for a while for a good hull and got started after plopping down $700 and off I went. Here is where I am so far, moving last year and covid slowed the plan but still at it. Got lucky on a new Honda 115 and still have not water tested it, but spring is almost here.1981 Glasply.jpg
