Just to clarify I am fiberglassing enough and with the correct fiberglass please reply with your comments.

Stringers:
-Glassed with Mat prior to bedding with PL Premium poly glue
-once bedded filleted with epoxy
-glassed both side to hull with cloth
-glassed both side to hull with mat
-glassed both side to hull with cloth

Bulkheads:
-Glassed with Mat prior to bedding with PL Premium poly glue
-glassed both sides to hull with mat

I will be putting 2 layers of cloth on the bulkheads in addition to the 2 layers of mat on the bulkheads

I am hoping this is going to be strong enough, but if I need more then please tell me.

Ayuh,... You mention Epoxy in step 2, but no other comment about the Resin you're using...
Unless you're switching over to Polyester, there's No reason for matting with Epoxy...

It should be plenty strong enough..I used 2 layers of CSM and that was it. I bedded everything with a thickened Poly mix..then tabbed the stringers to the hull..after that I wrapped them. Forgot..no mat with Epoxy. Is that what you are using for the whole project?

oops..didn't see bondo already mention that.

Re: Glassing Stringers & bulkhead

Ya forgot to mention the resin.

Everything was attached with MAS epoxy resin. I epoxied the wood extremely well before the fibergalss was put on.

All of the stringers and bulkheads were glassed on the side to the hull but not across the top of them. I have a hard time getting the MAT and cloth to roll over the top of the stringers. Even though I rounded them over with a router bit it seems to raise up with a large air pocket under it. I figured when I put the floor down I would just use a thick layer of resin mixed with flour and cabosil.

Total I have 4 layers of glass and epoxy on everything.

If $$ isnt' an issue, then using a Resin mix to sit your deck on to will be strong..Most folks will use a healthy bead of PL and then screw the deck down..that stuff is SUPER strong when cured. Might be a cheaper and easier route than mixing up a bunch of epoxy.

Have any pictures?

Re: Glassing Stringers & bulkhead

So what I am gathering is

Mat+6 oz cloth+mat+6 oz cloth is sufficient for glassing the stringers? (+epoxy on each layer)

As far as laying the floor I have already invested the money in epoxy so I might as well keep the trend going.

I figure the floor is going to take 2-3 gallons once its finished and I have already been thru 2 1/2 gallons on the stringers & bulkheads
