Glassing table?

I need to wet down quite a few mats to tuck in areas and also strips to rebuild the top of the transom level IE build up a few inches max.

Its been some years since I did this, kinda think I recall we worked on a table covered by something, such that we could cut the mat, wet it both sides and then lift it to the repair area.

Something on the table taht allowed one to keep using it??

Any advice?

Anything will work, wood, heavy paper, cardboard, wax paper, Formica, plastic.

Thanks, I think formica tops are what we used now that I read it. Cardboard and such scares me as when its hot even paper cups we used would catch fire at times.

If you leave resin to cure in a large mass like a paper tub it can get very hot and may become a fire hazard, in a thin amount like whats left on a wet out table, there's normally no problem. If your just doing a small amount of glass work don't over think the wet out table, a cardboard box or piece of plywood works great. If you have an old counter top or something similar you don't need anymore it will get at least one more use before going to the dump and work even better.
