Glastron sx170 purchase question..

I found a Glastron SX170 2005 at a reasonable price, it would be my first boat.. The seller seems like a great guy, he's willing to start for me and show me around. I was wondering if it's necessary to get a marine surveyor and what to be on the lookout for.

After buying this boat and investing over $3000 in improvements, my Glastron SX170 was recently stolen from Montreal, buyer beware if you come across this boat that it is a stolen one, not to to BUY it and report thiefs to the police immediatly, see pictures for detail!!! Boat has an outboard Yamaha 115HP engine, cover had been repainted black recently, trailer was redone, color orange/yellow.
