My new GLM manifolds arrived yesterday and thanks to Bond-o's January 25th post, "My experience with GLM manifolds,....." , the first order of business when I removed them from their boxes was to check the flatness of the sealing faces. Guess what....Not only are the manifold faces not flat, but neither are the mating faces on the risers. Instead of taking this to the dealer I bought them from, I sent an email directly to GLM's customer service describing the problem and asking them to help. In a few hours I had a return email with a phone number and name to call and discuss the situation. A very friendly rep explained to me that they were aware of this problem and that it had been resolved. She has arranged for UPS to pick up the parts Monday. She also told me that as soon as she has confirmation that they have been picked, she will send the replacements. She didn't even ask for a receipt or where they were purchased.
So far I'm pretty impressed.
Thanks Bond-o! If not for your post I'm sure I would not have checked for this.

Re: GLM Customer Service

Uh oh, I just got new GLM cast iron manifolds and risers, I will check them for flatness too. Mine came with another problem, the 2 plugs on top of the manifold which take a 14mm hex to remove (which I had to buy a whole set just to get the one I needed) are not inserted far enough in for the riser to sit flat. I have to pull out the plugs and clean the inside threads a bit and tighten them down more. This is a minor inconveniece, easier than the hassle of sending them back, and the guy I got them from on ebay is very helpful. He also sent me 2 new riser hose fittings which did not come with the set. Sounds like GLM has some quality issues and if I find mine aren't flat, they will be getting a call from me too!
