Re: global warming and abrupt climatic change...

Here's a news flash: you do not have to BURN organic matter to generate CO2. Burning is simply accelerated decomposition. In other words, burn it or let it rot...the result is the same.

I'd never make the claim that climatic change is not happeneing. What I reject is the notion that it is due to human activity. Like others have already said, the changes will come regardless of our actions.

Most of the hoopla about so-called global warming is politically motivated. As always, there are well-intentioned people on the bandwagon, but those steering the bandwagon are motivated by the establishment of worldwide totalitarianism. They like to point out the heavy consumption of energy in the USA, but they forget to mention the heavy PRODUCTION of food and other goods in the USA for consumption of people around the world.

It's always the same group of people who want to restrict gun ownership, ban cars [for the use of the "common man"], confiscate wealth [for redistribution to their supporting constituencies], and regulate health care. Make no mistake: it's all about world dictatorship and the enslavement of humanity.

-dd-

Once again Rolmops, you miss the mark. A very significant number of America's achievements have been at the hands of immigrants. The magic has been that regardless of where they came from, it was here, in America that their achievements came to fruition. Today, the Left wants to destroy that magic that is America.

My will not dispute that the globe is on a warming
trend. we have the facts... 1 degree each 100yrs
at current pace. perhaps man is contributing to
this change, but we are no match 4 the force of
nature IMHO.

Sure there is 1730V. We can use that fact to our political advantage. Convince enough 'Progressives' that it is the fault of the evil, greedy Americans, then we can use it as leverage to reduce this country's power and affluence to that of a third world nation. Then, ipso facto, what Dogsdad says, comes to pass.

And there you are trapped, rolmops. America is not a "nation" in the classical sense. It is an idea that fosters and encourages ideas. It is freedom to excel and profit, which encourages invention and innovation. And THAT is where America's [not imaginary] superiority comes from!

If I were von Braun or Einstein, I would never have wanted my work used to commit genocide or support a totalitarian despot, either. I would have wanted my work to benefit all of mankind, and the only place on earth where that is even remotely possible is right here in the USA.

Superior? No doubt!

-dd-

Re: global warming and abrupt climatic change...

If I remember my history right. Most drastic changes in climate have come from outer space. Most scientists say the dinosaurs were killed off due to a meteor. Evidence has shown that the earth has been struck mulitple times. Then just recently in the past couple of years, the scientist say we had a near miss with one.

Brothers, let me tell you, this is what is going to happen again. I don't think any efforts on anyone or any nation can do a dang thing about it. What I understand is that meteor strikes has been the most causes for drastic climatic change in out atmosphere.

Re: global warming and abrupt climatic change...

When the lakes turn over just before winter this happens when the water on the surface drops below 38 degrees. The water from the bottom turns to the top and the colder water on top goes to the bottom. Some dispute that we are not seeing the greenhouse effect because we are experiencing cooler summers than we have in the past. My understanding is when the greenhouse effect happens the cold frigid air in the upper altitudes will turn over like a lake does before winter. Hence a desert will become frigid and frigid areas will become temperate. Studies have found prehistoric animals have been found flash frozen because when they were dug out of the ice they still had undigested plants in their mouths and stomachs. This theory supports the atmosphere turning over. Interesting that the Aztec calendar only goes to 2012. What happens after that?

I tend to agree... Man has nothing to do with it.
He definitely causes pollution and such, but as far as global warming? That's pure tree-hugger propaganda.

Mother-nature takes care of her own.
Since we've been keeping records of weather, it clearly shows these patterns of unusual hot and cold patterns. We've had these hot days long before every home had a car in it.

You want to blame global warming on something... Do what the tree-huggers do and blame the SUV !!

HAHAH!!! :)

H.

I love all the scientific data supporting your conclusions.

It can't be true because we don't want to believe it.

I am understanding more and more what it means to have a faith based political philosophy. We will say and do anything we want in spite of any evidence to the contrary, and anyone that disagrees must be anti American.

No child left behind indeed!

Re: global warming and abrupt climatic change...

I love the one about bovine flatulence causing global warming. Those who make these claims are clearly idiots. They think this propoganda will lead to the elimination of the American rancher, who stands for individuality and self reliance.

These morons are ignorant of the fact that a good part of the western plains were grazed by millions of bison. Bison are also ruminants, with the same type of digestive system as a cow. So guess what?

Or, would these people claim that the elimination of the bison saved the earth for a time?

MORONS!

-dd-

Re: global warming and abrupt climatic change...

eurolarva dropped something that I have intentionally left out of this equation...2012 and the mayan calendar. supposedly, what happens after that is the beginning of another approx. 13,000 year cycle. The calendar is completely aligned with the precession of the equinoxes (which I think was referenced earlier). It also is aligned with the "orbit" or movement of our solar system in the milky way galaxy, and a specific positioning of the sun in the galaxy...

this link gives a good explanation of both precession, and the solar systems orbit...

http://www.saxakali.com/historymam7.htm

and Nostradamis said... :p
PW wants facts, fine.
the earth was almost fully covered in water (?)
million yrs ago. (temperate)
then we had an ice age. (don't think man's pollution
contributed)
today, we have a slow/gradual warming trend.
(like we can stop it if we tried)

get real!
