I just ripped out the rotted floor on my 16' Crestliner. It has an aluminum floor joist? system under the wood which the floor was screwed into. I'm going to buy new floor material and recarpet it. Suggestions for wood? Also, what type of adhesive should be applied to the wood/carpet to marry them. Am I to assume that the carpet just gets glued down then stapled for reinforcement? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do a search, or read the restos with the starcraft guys.
Id say 1/2 5 ply plywood at the least for the floor. 3/4 7ply is better. why not make the carpet a snap in? Or just paint the floor and save some cash.

Re: Glue and Wood

I should have been a bit more specific. The floor is split down the middle length-wise and I am only replacing the side without the console because the starboard side is fine. As such, I kinda need to match the existing floor (1/2 plywood) and make the carpet look somewhat matching as well. I should throw dirt and stuff on it to make it look vintage:) So I kinda have a gameplan but I guess I was looking for what type of wood to get. I've seen people mention marine-grade plywood, can this be bought at menards or Lowes?
