I can't quite pin down a difference in, lets say, a 2006 4l80e and a 1997 4l80e??
I seem to recall the newer generation vortec's (ie, 4.8,5.3,6.0,8.1) having a different bellhousing pattern??
What would it take to use a newer 4l80e in a older truck?
Thanks for any insight:cool:

edit--
What would it take to use a Allison in a 4l80e's place?

If you can't get an answer here you may try googling the name Burt Brown. He builds race automatics. He's extremely knowledgeable and if he can't point you in the right direction no one can. He helped me tons when I raced dirt track.
