I have no issues with the cars. Just that with GM openly talking about trying to dump the brand....now might not be the time to use ads with the slogan "rethink".

Good point, I hadn't really considered that.

The more times I see Howie Long on tv talking smack, the more it makes me want to go out and buy a new Tundra.

Thats what I did.... ;)

they have the steps on the side too.. you know how many times ive climbed on my tire to get something out.. those things are smart. im getting them soon only like 90 bucks and they fold away.. im young so i climb over the tailgate pretty easily.. but the step would be nice . easier on the knees for sure

Re: GM's new tv ads

as the owner of an F150 and many other Fords over the years, I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I seen the "man step" commercial for the first time.

Maybe because that's what I thought the first time I seen one of those on an F150 (mine doesn't have a step)

Nice feature if your handicapped or whatever but if that's the case are you really loading and unloading a pickup?

I'm young too, so its not a big deal, but climin into the back of a 4x4 f250 or 350 gets old pretty quick. I've seem some older guys who keep a little 4 foot step ladder in their truck just to get in and out of the bed

Yes us disabled folk just sit quietly in our corner drooling on ourselves waiting patiently for someone to wipe it off. Don't you think individuals with disabilities might have a need to put something in a truck once in a while just like everyone else?

Re: GM's new tv ads

Awhile back I had seen statistics of workers compensation claims dealing with unloading trucks. Jumping from the back of trucks to the ground caused the majority of back, leg, and neck injuries. Some major trucking companies will terminate you for doing such an act anymore. Maybe Ford cued in on this to help prevent injuries caused from their trucks. I'm not old, not disabled, but I would find that step a big asset if you had to get in and out many times during loading or unloading.

actually the couple handicapped friends I have (as in loss of limb type folks) are smart enough to carry a step around if they need it. BUT they seldom do a lot of hauling. They like their trucks for extra room and ease of getting into versus a little car.
Now if your particular handicap involves uncontrollable drooling I don't think the step is going to make the bed any less slippery for you. metal that's been drooled all over can be hazardous.
