It's the 101 that causes the problem getting off your hands (that really should be a clue to how it works). Get the 24C with teflon, it's a good grease for a lot of things.

Just use a water-proof grease on the bolt and when you do the annual service (that's each year!) it'll come out nice and easy....

Eversieze has copper and nickel in it... You'll just be adding yet more metals to that underwater battery you have.

for bolts try the OMC gasket adheasive or the 3M equivelent

Don, I'm kidding about my hands getting dirty, their dirty every day. I'll get some merc lube I got alot of parts to put together thanks guys for the info/comments. Sealants have to be used on some stuff though I think they put high temp on the manifold bolts,exhaust tube etc.

Yes, sealants are used on some things. Surprisingly, the OEM service manual actually tells you what to use and where. Since those same manuals were designed to be used by the Merc techs, one would think that they would suggest the proper sealers, greases, lubricants, etc.

I got it! I decided instead of beating on it, as the part of the anode that the threads of the bolt are, is recessed into the "aluminum" housing. I took a drill bit the same dia. as the bolt and with the acces hole as a guide it helps drill straight. I drilled the bolt head when i got to the depth of the bolt head "POP" the anode fell out. See attached and notice the rust? Also i noticed the anode was painted hmmm? It's not suppose to ne is it???

Good for you, No, it should not be painted, now go get a stainless replacement cap screw bolt, & a new anode. If any doubt of any bolts composition, put a magnet on it.

You're never seen magnetic stainless???? It has a name, can't remember it right now....

I always coat any bolt that is in the water with OMC/Bombardier triple guard grease, that nice blue stuff works like a charm, those little drain plugs in the pivot housing of my Cobra always come right out after 6 months in salt water when I've smeared that stuff on em. Just used it today on the anode bolts for the drive and transom mount. I use the OMC gasket sealer (now Perfect Seal?) on the bolts for the impeller housing and thermo housing as per the OMC shop manual.
