Cool pic where the boat crossed the island then spun around. Gotta be pretty stupid to be running 90 mph without a kill switch lanyard. He's lucky he didn't kill somebody. Maybe he'll wear his kill switch lanyard next time ................

What a shame, however, that man is the luckiest person I know. Launched out of a boat at 90+MPH, not seriously injured, no (injured) passengers, no injured pedestrians, and no damaged property (other than his own). WOW:eek: He may not think he's lucky, but if he'd ran that thing into a 100' yacht, killed a bunch of passengers, and broke his neck, he'd think differently.

Not so fast (pun intended). Wait until the eco whackos sue him for tearing a hole in a wetland.

Wow, I can't imagine the impact of hitting the water at that speed. Just slalom skiing at 30mph is hard enough.

Depends on who is in the boat with me. I wear it if nobody else coupld pilot the boat, kids are on board, or if traveling alone.

Did you guys read the story at the bottom of the page about the guy falling off hsi Yatch and getting ran over?

Everybody's only talking about the safety lanyards... how about hearing something about piloting your vessel safely? He obviouly was going way too fast for the conditions.

Guys, it didn't go from the ocean to the river, it went from the river to the ocean, I don't see how it could do that. How did it hit wake and then make an almost 90 degree turn at 90mph into the ocean?

I don't buy that.

Re: Going 90 and thrown out of the boat!!!

No safety lanyard on my 30 footer. Still trying to figure out how to put one from the boiler to the engine!:D No safety lanyard on the 14 foot Appleby with less than 8 hp kickers on it. The kickers are all over 40 years old. No lanyard on the 18 foot sailboat. No lanyard on the 15 foot MFG fish and ski though I very likely will wire one into it in the next few weeks because of the wisdom advocated here.

I do use safety harness when the wind, waves and traffic and activities makes it prudent.

SgtMaj has it right. 90 in an uncontrolled river is like someone driving over 100 on a highway. Harming anyone else should be considered attempted homicide or homicide. Going fast is not the problem, risking others lives and property is.
