The Smartabs are great, but good luck getting a response
I sent 4 e-mails with no response to any of them
Call them on the phone. They will walk you through any questions you have. I didn't get any responses to e-mail either, but called and got my questions answered and John helped me get a better understanding of my specific install. He is very knowledgeable.

Re: Going to install my smart tabs...

There is neve a good time for me to take some time off, so I appologize for not getting back to you sooner.

We changed the attachment of the actuator to the brackets from the ball studs / end fittings to a thru bolt / eyelet end fitting because it is more secure for heavier and higher speed boats. Admittedly changing the pressure adjustment is not a quick but once dialed in there is no possibility that the actuator will come detached, or bend the brackets.

It is better to install the self locking nut on the opposite side of the bracket.

I would like to find out exactly what you received for installation instructions. Please call! 800-233-0194

The main problem I had was the supplied bolts werent long enough to use flat washers and get the nylon portion of the locking nut to engage. I replaced them with 1.5" stainless bolts and then had enough room to install the flat washers and locking nuts. If I reverse the order and install the bolt through the actuator first, I cant get my wrench on the flat nut because my wrench is too wide.
