Good Anchor Windlass lubrication?

My Good Windlass model AFD does not free drop very readily. Line can be pulled out (the clutch is releasing). I think it may need lubrication but have no manual or instructions for doing this. Can anyone out there offer advice or lube instructions? Thanks.

Give the manufacturer a call.They are very accomodating.I dont think it is a lube problem.I opened one up years ago and they have a resovoir of oil that the gears run through.I guess it could be empty.You have to take the whole cover off to check.Charlie

Thanks for the info, Charlie. I'll give them a call. Given the weather this spring, I'll have plenty of time to work on it!
