Re: Good Boat names

We have been kicking around names for boats recently too....

... a few I came up with (keep in mind we are a bunch of, um, under-funded scuba divers that like to laugh)

Scuba-doo

Dive Bar

Depth Charge (remember the "under-funded" part) -- my buddy chose this one

.....and for me?
Well, after 2 years of joking that "I don't want a boyfriend, I want a boat!"
now that the dream has come true....and any time I might have had left in my schedule for a boyfriend is spent on the lake diving from the boat..... the one I chose seemed appropriate...

"Man-Eater" --- with a little graphic of a shark  lol

I got an 83 thundercraft bow rider and turned her into a fishing boat so I named her Bass-ackerds.

:) And I have an old 18' aluminum v-hull from Arkansas, state motto, "The Natural State". Worked for me. I live in a DC suburb, run the Potomac above the fall line. Great names in this thread!:D

Re: Good Boat names

Haven't named ours yet, still working on a good and catchy name. When I was a kid my dad had an aluminum v-hull that seemed to break down or leak every time we went fishing so my brother and I named it the "Titanium Turd". We went bought the stickers and stuck them on there and Dad never took them off. lol

Re: Good Boat names

When we go out to eat the host/hostess cannot pronounce my last name, so my wife always says Rogers. Now we have a boat and I asked the wife what would be a good name she said how about "The Jolly Rogers".

I was out on Monday July 5th and seen a real nice big speed boat, name on it was Poor Excuse.......

Re: Good Boat names

I just bestowed this one on my project boat:

It was my wife's recommendation since she says I spend more time and money with it. It also works with meaning I'm out on the water missing the stress of my job, or that she can be a lil' Miss who can stress me out if I start having problems with her. lol

My wife named by boat "Lil Willie". I guess now she can tell me to stop playing with it.

Re: Good Boat names

I don't necessarily have a name to add to the list, but I was playing around with the "Custom Boat Lettering" tool in the iboats store and found it pretty cool. It's not PhotoShop or anything, but for less than $30 shipped (with a bunch of freebies to boot), I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Check it out:

Re: Good Boat names

I'm still trying to decide between two names, both inspired by my wife.

1: Nauti Girl (Possibly with a pin-up girl, ala ww2 bombers)

2: Bra Breaker (Wifey's well endowed and we've broken 2 so far! :D:D:D )

Re: Good Boat names

A lot of good names on here. I am trying to name my boat as well, but I kinda like sitting in it drinking a cold drink and trying to figure out the name. May never name it just so I can say I am doing something while sitting in the drive way in the boat.

Mine is going to be "Lollygagging". Means to waste time by puttering aimlessly. Describes me perfect on my boat.

Re: Good Boat names

Funny, the GF and I were discussing what we should name our new (to us) boat. Several names came and went, then one afternoon, while under tow back to the launch by the coast guard, it came to her:

(The boat is off white, brown bottom, tan/brown interior, Camel colour she calls it)

So, the boat is now Kamel Tow'd

Well, my lil' 14 foot looks like a bathtub, and it's ugly as hell, so I thought up 'TTUB UGLY" (get it ? :D)

Or maybe 'Bathtub Gin'......
