Who says walmart battery's are no good? I was putting the charge on my starting and deep cycle battery's. I replaced the starting battery last year but I have had my deep cycle for quite a while. It is just now starting to show its age and has dropped a little capacity. I decided to look in the pouch on the side to see if it had any warranty left. I pulled out the receipt, Purchased 4/28/2001!!! I guess the warranty is up! Not bad for a Wallmart $39.94 battery. I might even be able to get thru this season......

I guess it pays to watch the water levels, keep it charged when not in use, and store it inside during the winter.

The quality of a battery seems to be how resistant it is to abuse.

Look after anything properly and it will last for years regardless of whether it was 'cheap chinese junk' or not.

My old man has a lawn mower battery still in use from AT LEAST 12 years ago... when it seems like it is dead, he takes it out of the lawn mower and hooks it up to a trickle charger for a bit and it is good as new. go figure...

If you replace that deep cycle at Wal-mart now it will run you $70. Still not as much as a "premium" brand and will last just as long with care.

I've had lots of luck with Walmart batteries. The starting battery in my boat is 7 years old, the battery in my truck is 8 years old, the battery in my Jeep is 10 years old.

I have had good luck with the marine battery from walmart as well... Car battery? Not so much, but at all failures it was under warranty

If I got 10 years on a Boat battery, I'd go ahead and replace it and figure I got my nickle's worth out of it. Darn good service for a $39.94 battery!

I need a new battery. I may have to stop by walmart and pick up one of their batteries.

Glad I saw this thread.
