I'm looking at buying my first boat. I've been looking for a year so it's any day now...I can feel it. The boat will most likely be an 18-20' open bow with an i/o. Anyhow, I'm going to be doing alot of fishing and need all the ins/out of electronics. I understand that I'm going to need a depth sounder/FF and GPS at minimum. My concern is with the sounder/FF. I'm mechanically ignorant and don't want to be drilling holes into the boat...it might sink afterwards. I've read some threads on the type of transducer that you can place in the bilge so you don't have to drill holes into the boat. This may be my best option. Anyways, there's alot of info floating around and wonder if someone can point me to the "good stuff". That way I can spend more of my time looking for the soon to be boat. Thanks.
