I'm sitting here watching the local news.
This one seemed to fit in here, so.....
Fox45 just reported that they are fewer shark attacks due to the economy.
Huh ??????
Yup, fewer people heading to the beach. (Must be a helluva cover charge!).
They also reported that there has been a decline over in shark attacks over the past 5 years.

Good news for us humans who (despite what we may think) are several notches down on the ocean food chain

And the vast majority of us buy it, hook line and sinker. (pun intended)

Its not fewer shark attacks due to the poor economy...its fewer shark attacks due to fewer sharks....our oceans are being depleated

Re: Good News - Fewer Shark Attacks

the complete report is fewer beach goers, due to the economy. the rate has reduced everywhere except Florida, as our beach use has not decreased. fewer people in the water, fewer bitten.

I watched a report on a survey re sharks about 2 nights back....in relation to our area....and they quoted how many sharks would be killed in a year, then talked about how their numbers were exploding here due to large areas being closed to fishing....causing bait fish to flourish....sharks to feed and breed up.

Last week we had 2 serious attacks, one on a Navy diver in Sydney Harbour (which never has shark problems) and the other at Bondi Beach (biggest public beach....not had an attack there for 70yrs or something)
That's not all this summer either.

I hate them....just like I hate crocs. They attack and eat people.

Cheers
Phillip

Kiwi , You must be prepping it wrong , Get out your pencil . "Pete's Black + White rollups on the grill" take a 20lb BlackRhino steak , pound flat with 6lb tenderizer and salt to taste . Cut Equaly proportioned Great white filet , place on top of said BR steak -skin side down (skin removed of course) pepper heavily ,I use black and white . Then roll tightly together . For fun secure ends with a couple sharks teeth or big bamboo skewers .Baste with a good beer and cover with cajun spices . slow roast a couple of days , basteing every 3 hours. After 2nd baste run to Olivegarden and grab a couple of nice meals to go and bring home to impress guests . Feed mess in grill to the dingos just to keep 'em from coming back .:D
