Thanks to some good advice from Rick. and DJ, this old gal started right up on the 3rd pull and happily putters along.

As per Rick's advice, I replaced the fuel pump and lines. This cost around $40.
Per DJ's advice, I rebuilt the carb (again) and replaced the float. The float did turn out to be the the original cork unit. Total cost for rebuild kit and float was around $20. I set the float "a little fat", i.e. slightly above level.

For those of us who remember 1969, it's easy to forget that it was 40+ years ago. When you stop and think about it though, those are some old parts.

Anyway, she started right up and sounds much better than she ever has. Thanks again for the great advice on this forum!
