Turning Point Hustler makes a quality alum prop with hard blades, cup, rake, and ports, just like it's expensive SS brothers. Only thing missing is thin blades. I picked mine up on here for < $100. Worth thinking about.

The fact that it's a 150 Merc is helpful.

It would be even more helpful to know what type of boat it's on, since different designs are intended for different type boats.

With all your other toys I doubt that you would be happy with an alum prop.

I second the Turning Point prop. I am running their Aluminum 4 blade, and like it. They offer a stainless also, but I don't have any experience with them. Though I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try based on the performance of mine.

You can pick up several of the Aluminums for the price of a stainless, and you usually only benefit on top end. Plus if you hit a stump, you're more likely to walk away with just a prop change.

I did finally order a stainless Turning Point 4 blade, and like it very much. Man does this thing hold the water. Very little bow lift on take off, and top end only lost 1-2 mph.

I thought you were wanting a vented prop. The only vented prop Solas offers is the Scorpion.

My 2 cents........Solas 4 blade, bout $120. mine--> 14.75 x 15P on my 20ft cuddy......had a 3 blade that stuggled to get on plane, put the 4 blade on and WOW!! jumps on plane with 5 adults in tow in less than 10 sec.. more like 6... I cant say enough about what the 4 blade will do relating to hole shot.. heavier boats,, mine is 2500lb,,, benefit greatly by use of 4 blade, like Callen said...you will lose a few mph top end in exchange for jumping up quicker... Im sold on the 4 blade... my WOT hums at 4500 ish rmp on my 3.0 in line 4 Merc..

Agree.

For my Bayliner OB, I use Aluminum 3-blade for general cruising. And, use aluminum 4-blade for tubing and heavy loads. On my boat, one can immediately tell which blade prop is mounted. I take both props on my boat - since the unused prop is the onboard spare. I like aluminum because of the shallow river and lake shorelines my boat must "creep" across.

If going with SS props, perhaps same 1 x 3-blade with 1 x 4-blade combo (for different waters and onboard sparing) would work as well?

The Titan is a "power" prop designed to push heavy loads. It is not intended for bass boats.

Do yourself a favor and return it (unopened) in favor of a Solas HR Titan3 or a Quicksilver Lightspeed(same as a Mercury Laser). The Solas HR Titan 3 is about $125 less than the QST Lightspeed. The Lightspeed will perform a little better than the HR Titan 3. p1343266971490880.jpg A 20 ft Cajun bass boat.
