A few weeks ago, I made a post about the Seasense Dual Drive trailer winch. To recap, the pawl keeper on that winch is poorly designed and can easily jam in the gears, rendering the winch useless until the pawl assembly is taken apart and the keeper removed. Also, the latch on the strap hook was too long and had to be trimmed before the hook could be engaged on the bow eye.
I replaced the Seasense with a Fulton F2 fully enclosed single-speed winch rated at 2,000lbs. I've only used it a few times, but so far it has performed fantastically. The hardware is well made and beefy. The gear ratio is just about perfect for winching my 21' deckboat onto the trailer. The supplied strap hook latched perfectly. This winch is not cheap, I paid $140, but it really makes the Seasense look like the junk that it is.
