Good to see ya here. What has happened to the Johns Old Merc forum? All I get is the dreaded Page Cannot Be Found thingy. Yeah, I'm the one who keeps asking about power trim on a 69 Merc 1250. You can see my Beast on my website linked below. I lurk the Kraits forum as well...

Nice old Redband.. Those early towers look great. Always remember being told as a kid in the 60's that "Mercury are the best (And most expensive) motor around." Never thought I would own one.<br />Jason.. Your website is inspiring.. What a transformation. I think you are the J.B. of the Project boat section..

Thanks Unicorn, I do love Mercs. I was fond of the Merc 850 on my other boat, but I just had to have that 1250. It gets up and goes right now. It'll tickle 6000 rpms without protest.

John's board works for me. I don't go there too much as my scope of interest is pretty much limited to the inline 6 and his board leans toward the 50's stuff. I really like it though.<br /><br />That project boat looks like it's coming along good. Becaue of leg differences you'd have to move a trim over to your leg.<br /><br />-W<br /><br />

Ya, <br /><br />I'm a member over at Scream and Fly as "Ratbo" which is what I used everywhere till going "Pro". It's a handle left over from onling gaming. I need to change it there for the sake of consistancy.<br /><br />-W

Jason,<br />My hats off to you,Great project,Great web site,Great typing.<br />I know the time you put in to this and the way you feel.In 2002 I did about the same with a 80's 22' daycruser closed bow,Replaced the floor,stringers,and cut in an open bow,what a project!(turned out prefect,people think its factory).Then as I still didn't get enought last year I redid a 1975 Valcon 30' pontoon boat,redid the floor,carpet,and reforced the transom to take twin 1970 ish 115 hp Mercs,(Its Quite a site to other boaters when I pass them at 50).<br />So once again MY HATS OFF TO YOU.<br /><br />TOO MANY BOATS<br />1979 CRUSADER 22'DAYCRUSER /454 BB(SAVING FOR SON)<br />1975 VALCON 30' PONTOON /TWIN 115 MERCS(DOCK)<br />1974 SIDEWINDER 16',110 MERC(FISHING)<br />1998 BAJA 252 ISLANDER/454(THE ONLY ONE WIFE WILL GO ON) <br />NO MORE ROOM<br />PASO ROBLES ,CALIF.
