Hey guys, this could be a really dumb question, but does anyone have a quick and dirty way of testing a solenoid? Ordinarily I would get my brother to use the multimeter while I tried to crank the motor, but he can't come help me out until tomorrow and I really want to get the part ordered before the weekend if it is shot! I have a spare battery and jumper cables but I definitely don't want to make it worse.... Thanks!- Tom

don't know if this is an I/O vs outboard, but try this thread

it has a complete instruction set for testing an I/O starting system.
