Re: Goodyear Marathon Tires
Beating a dead horse here but you can't say ALL reviews of Marathons are negative because I have posted positive reviews of them. I've had many different brands of tires and have had issues with most. I currently have Marathons on my tandem trailer and have had them for 4 years. Counting 3 trips to Florida, 4 to New York, 6 or more to Tennessee (I live in Ohio) and multiple local trips of 25 miles+ I estimate I have 10K miles on mine. As of this year they still have very good tread depth, no signs of cracking or dry rotting or other bad issues. I take very good care of my gear and take "extreme steps" to ensure long tire life. (I check tire pressure before each trip, I raise the trailer to take the weight off when not being used, I store my tires in the garage during the winter.) Extreme? Apparently some people think so. I've had treads fly off on the highway but have NEVER been stranded due to a blow out or lack of a good spare.
Trailers get ignored to the max and this causes most of the issues experienced in my honest opinion.
