I keep seeing all over the internet about the Google Affiliate Program or also called Google Profits. People are claiming that they sit at home all day and post links from network advertisers on websites and they get paid based on the number of times that the links are clicked on. Has anyone else hear of this? Also, is anyone doing this?

How does it work exactly? I have read that Google provides a script that you insert in your webpages and they automatically load in ads that are relevant to your page.

Can anyone explain this further to me. Times are really tight and I am looking for anyway to make some extra money... Thanks

Re: Google Affiliate Program

I did a lot of reading on this subject while unemployed. I came to the conclusion that it was very rare for people to make much money at it.
The ones that claim they are making 5k a month or so i think is BS.

The ones i looked at all wanted a fee for the "kit" or whatever to get you started.

If it was as easy as they claim no one would ever have a real job but just sit home on the computer and get paid.

Just my opinion......but be careful if you try it and read all the fine print.;)

Read this too...http://money.cnn.com/2009/12/08/technology/Google_lawsuit_Pacific_Webworks/

Yes, I am very skeptical, which is why I am asking this audience if anyone has any expereince with it...

The fee for the kit is only $1.95. No big deal. But I do not even want to risk that without knowing more. According to what I have read, you have to have a site that attracts a bit of traffic. Of course, the more traffic to the site, the greater the potential of the links getting clicked...etc...

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what type of site to put up that would attract alot of traffic... Any ideas for me...

Google Affiliate Program or also called Google Profits

The moderators here call them SPAMMERS.
As an example, It will take you about 15 minutes or more to register and post in several of the forums here with the message with links. Takes a Mod about 2 minutes to delete all of your posts and ban you forever.

Is that what you want to be? A worthless spammer???

Yes, you can make $5K/mo from google ads if you have a popular site. Though, if you have a popular site, google ads is hardly the best advertiser to use. All of that being true, you don't just 'decide' to make a popular site, the net chooses you.

Guaranteed method of making a money generating site:

Step #1: Make a site around something you love, and you will attract an audience.
Step #2: Make a site better than your competitor and you will gain momentum.
Step #3: Make a site in which people rely upon, then you can make money.

Until then, see step #1.

There is no shortcut to becoming a hit site. Do what you love is still a rule, even on the net.

As for what you can make by making a good site, people bring home $50k+/mo on top3 sites in their category. Keep in mind, costs of runnign those sites go up a bit when you get popular. I paid out $5-8K/mo in BW and server fees on one of my sites at one point. So running a website is hardly free money. If you make no money in a month, you still get a bill, just like in any business.

To make any kind of real money using Google Ads, you need more then one website. Even a website with 10,000 visitors a month, unless it's a very niche market, you're looking at very small payout for clicks on ads, that's even if anyone clicks on them.

Most guys involved in making money from websites have 100+/1000+ websites in their portfolio, spam places like Facebook, Twitter, forums related to their niche, MySpace, etc. Most are also useless websites with no real content. A lot are usually made up of content scrapped from other websites.

There's also those websites that show up in searches but are basically just a portal to other websites. Essentially those sites trick you in to clicking the links (search results) and they get paid when you do.

A few other common ways they make money is to provide "free items" for filling out forums. The person filling out the forum will essentially have their information sold by the company providing the "free item".

One last tactic off the top of my head, and less "black hat" then the previous things is to join an affiliate network and find a product that you would promote and recommend for others. Most people will purchase the product and honestly evaluate it, kind of like the honest infomercial guys (oxymoron?). Then it's just a matter of creating a website promoting that product and making sure that people are coming around to your website and actually purchasing the product (you get paid based on sales).

Honestly, with most of these schemes you have to toss some morals out the window, be somewhat underhanded and be prepared to wait for results... it won't happen overnight, if even in the first year or two.

Don't worry Don, posting on forums, especially here was/is not even an option/consideration for me... Don't want to be a spammer...

I've read about a scam like this-- the $1.95 is an INITIAL payment. Buried way down in the fine print when you sign up it says that they will auto-charge your credit card something like $20 every month. I don't know if that is the same scam, but it sure sounds like it. Don't do it!

Even if it is $2, this is another thing way these guys make their dollars. They sell e-books or kits. If you're a good writer and are knowledgeable about a subject, turning out an e-book and selling it is a pretty legit way to make some cash. Just make sure your site doesn't looking spammy (but WAIT, there's more!! for only blah blah blah). Most of the guys are just selling what you can find for free with a little looking around.

The best way on the Internet to make money is to provide a service or product that people want to pay for. That or sell an actual tangible product through an e-commerce site. You can supplement this using Google Ads, etc but 99% of the time with Google Ads, they'll send your customers to your competition. Good luck with whatever you decide!

That is what i found out from researching this.Once they get your credit card number they start billing it monthly.
No way in he!! i would give out mine to any of those sites!
