got a ticket today :(

Just got a ticket on Lake Erie (Michigan water) today.<br /><br />1.) No type IV throwable device on board.<br />2.) The toddler ( 11 month ) didnt have her PFD on<br />( usually she has, but she just came out of the cabin from her afternoon nap and with the PFD on she cant sleep, but the discussion with the officer of course didnt work out )<br /><br />Does anyone know how much this is going to be ?<br />I just says call court within 14 days....<br /><br />Thanks, Tom

Thats bad about the ticket, but think about it, it could have been worse. Be safe and responsible on the water.

He doesn't need a lecture. I am sure he felt bad enough in front of the wife and baby while the local law man flexed his mussel while you are on his turf. You should just call them in the morning and find out. It shouldn't be that bad. My favorite one is “ No type IV throw able device on board.”. I have been hit with this one. At the time I was alone on my way home with a blowing up 302 smoking and spitting. I get back to the ramp with the local law following close behind (I thought they were making sure I got back to shore). I go get my truck and trailer and by the time I get back to my boat I am asked to do a safety check. Had everything but that. With all the problems I had going on (blown motor and all) I couldn't believe he was writing me a ticket so I had to ask in a smart tone, if I fell over who the H*** was supposed to throw it to me. That didn't gain me any favor.
