Bought me a couple of tires with wheels for my 40 year old boat trailer. Cheap 'made in China', but my ramp is only 5 miles from my house. My old tires were made by Armstrong. Armstrong went out of business in the late 1980's. My old tires had a build date of 130 which means the 13 week of a decade ending with a 0 ( pre year 2000). The 0 means my tires could be for the years 1980, 1990, or 2000. I could be wrong and just wondering. Is there a decade code on the tire? The numbers I found on the old tires are 449958 CFE AB2 130, the 130 number is the build date. I'm thinking my old tires were built in 1990 and are 27 years old, just a guess :)

Sometimes they put a little triangle after the 3 digit code to indicate 90's

I just checked my old tires. They don't have the triangle. When I bought my boat a couple years ago they guy selling it told me "look at those Armstrong tires. They haven't made them for a long time". I told him I knew that and the plant was just a couple of miles from my house. The Armstrong Tire plant has been shut down for a long time. Hard to tell how old these tires are because the boat was stored in a nice garage for many, many years of it life so the tires are hard as a rock but not dry rotted from the Sun and cold.
