My Uncle and I picked this boat up 2 weeks ago this morning. She had been sitting for around 8 years the best we can figure. You can see most of the work we done. We also redone the cuddy, Rebuilt carbs, New fuel pump, Bilge, and most of the wiring. Still have a small issue with a fuel pump we think and need to work on the fuel guage. Otherwise boat ran out pretty good. Let me know what you think.
These are the before pics

doesn't look like the same boat. what problem are you having to make you suspect fuel pump? fuel gauges are a PIA. probably need new sender.

We suspect the fuel pump[ because, When we first got the motor running, you could pump the primer. The motor would run long enough to burn what fuel was in the bowls and them quit. It has a upper and lower fuel pumps. We replaced the lower. The boat ran good out of the water at idle and when we would rev it up. When we got it to the water it still idled good and would run at very low speeds, When you went to WOT it would run for about 10 seconds then die, Pump the bulb a few licks and it would fire back up. Im thinking the pumps will pump enough to keep it idleing constantly but will not keep up at WOT.

did you try pumping the bulb, while trying to go to wot. that would show pump failure. what engine is it?

78 200 Horse Johnson. I did try that and It doesnt really make sence. At WOT I can pump the primer and it still wont run very long or pickup if it has started to slow down, Im thinking now maybey along the lines of some bad fuel line. Any suggestions?

have you done anything at all to the carbs. i would suspect stuck needle valves, air leak in fuel lines. vent not open on the tank.

We put kits and cleaned all 3 carbs. The vent on the tank is probably stoped up because it wont take fuel very fast when filling, It will spew back out the spout. We did however take the cap off and try that and no change.

After replacing the other fuel pump and all new fuel line we took it out again today. Boat ran like a raped ape for roughly 5 miles. Turned around and it started slowing down. Went to hit the primer bulb while it was still running and noticed the primer bulb was sucked flat. Shut it off and it came back into shape. Got it back on the trailor and got home found a small metal screen filter under the fitting of the fuel tank stopped complely up. Trashed the fitting getting it off. We decided since it had an aftermarket filter we are going to leave it out. New fitting tommorow and back to the lake Saturday.
Getting close:)

Sounds like you've got it dialed in bigtom. People should be flogged for letting a boat get into the shape your's was. What does it take to get a long 2x4 and some tarps and bungees.

Also check the anti-syphon valve on tank. Verify fuel regulations but I believe if your carbs are higher than you tank fittings then you don't need to have one on the tank.

The anti-syphon fitting is a check valve using a spring and ball to stop fuel syponing. These thing get gummed or corroded. Even in new condition they restrict fuel to engines. 2 strokes need fuel for life, I personnally remove mine because I have outboards.

I heard that, We bought it from a guy named George Bush(No Joke)
He bought it for a project for his son in laws, But they didnt have time to mess with it. He said the boat had been sitting for about 6 years he thought, Or thats what he paid back taxes on. Needless to say it will be better taked care of this time
