Wood bleach, the stuff you'd use to lighten stained wood when refinishing is oxalic acid. It is usually sold in tubs of dry crystals. It used to be pretty common in home centers that have wood refinishing supplies.. Of course that could be something completely different than what RP was referring to, in which case ignore me LOL.

Ooooh... That blows! I had to go out of town weekend before last when I had just received my new fuel tank. Hate being out of town when there are pressing boat projects!!!:(
Yep,then out of town the next weekend too..:mad: Oh well,it is a 'project' boat. But would like to see how she rides pretty soon..

Hey Calico, I was reading about that stuff..They make a hull cleaner with those dry crystals too. MaryKate is the brand but its probably the same stuff..

WORRY, about the basics. you can clean it another day. stable boat, reliable engine.

The Mary Kate On-Off Hull cleaner is what i mentioned in one of my earlier post. The Star Brite Rust Stain Remover has a higher percentage of oxicilic by volume than the On-Off Hull cleaner does.

The Star Brite is stronger. ;)

BTW, the "W" Marine store brand is the same thing as the Star Brite and is a little cheaper.

Thanks RP..The MaryKate was kind of pricey..Will get some Starbrite!!
No "w" marine near me..
