there is an intake grate on this machine that the last owner put in. i am not sure if its aftermarket or what!
how can i tell?

Does it have any cross fins on it? The factory one has no pickup wings on it, it is just a couple bars to keep rocks from getting sucked in. Aftermarket ones generally look like this.

No clue...form what i have seen so far its just all flat and is bolted to the bottom..has some intake on it. i think mine is factory. i will take a picture once i get it on the trailer which is once i get the darn lighting done
how much does the aftermarket ones cost?

ok i think i am missing the whole intake grate! not good and i am pissed at the owner not telling me anything about this...

i got the trailer all done and ready...put in a PVC pipe on the sides as a guide but as i was loading the trailer, i realized that the pwc is wide so had to take of the pvc pipe ... i will have to relocate it to the tail light braket i guess.

i had to readjust the bunks too so its sitting right under the pwc.


I also gotta do something with all those scratches..thinking of painting it the way i did the glasstream last year.

yep, need a grate... Running without one is actually quite a bit slower than the OEM grate. Also, looks like that wear ring is pretty much shot, HUGE gap between the impeller and ring. (max allowed gap is .04 inches) You will also want to change the stator oil, which will happen anyway when you pull the wear ring out. (be very, very careful with the stator oil, it smells incredibly bad! Spill it in your garage and you will smell dead, decaying dinosaurs for weeks)

is stator oil the one you put into the cone like thing on the back? it has a tiny hole that you fill in with the oil

yep... There is also an updated shock absorbing bushing that goes on the end of the shaft that you will want to change. Seadoo has an updated kit that comes with a new cone, bushing, stator oil, o rings, etc... (search for 'seadoo anti-rattle kit' )

yea i know about that kit...
well i aint spending all this just yet...i mean its a new engine when i got it so i have to break it in. i will wait till its in the water and see how it goes...i should be able to catch signs of a shot wear ring if its that bad.

lots of cavitation and the engine will rev up really fast. If its really bad, it will feel like the pwc isn't in gear, and will suddenly catch.

took the tires off..sanded the rims abit and painted it.
