OK, so I am going to ask two seperate questions at once.

1. I want to install a Marine TV antenne (flat round0 on a short mast. I also have other things on the top of the house such as masthead light and a chrome searchlight. Will those items interfer with the antenne's ability to receive a clear signal?

2. I have been looking at getting a USB GPS and wondering if there is a problem using them with MapTech products?

Thanks

I believe that if the software will accept an NMEA 2.0 data signal, it should work fine. I have an inexpensive USB GPS rcvr and use it with MS Streets and Trips. Works fine.

Re: GPS and TV antenne

On your first question. To be safe, locate the antenna as far from the other fixtures as possible. I think if you can get 6 ft away, it should be ok. Generally, you want to stay at least 1/2 wave from other objects. The lowest frequency that VHF TV uses is about 50MHZ. Thats about 4'. so 6 will be safe. Also, if possible mount TV on a different plane (higher or Lower) than the other objects. The higher the antenna is, the better it will work.
