GPS antenna location

I bought a new Lorance X18C GPS/Sonar unit to go on my new center console boat. It looks like the only place that affords me room to mount both the screen and puck antenna is next to each other right on top of the console. I like this option best because I will have little wiring to run. However, I'm wondering if being so close to each other will cause any problems? Lowrance indicates transducer cables to be mounted away from other electrical equipment but they do not give recommendation to the antenna and GPS distance proximity.
Helpful advice appreciated.

Kevin

Kevin
I think you can mount about anywhere with no problem, but to make sure I would do a temp mount and take it out and test it. Try moving the antenna around and check your signal strengths. I can tell you this on my runabout I have not found a place my handheld unit will not work good.
