I have an older GPS, a Garmin GPSMAP 162, that I mounted on the dash in my 16' open bow Bayliner. I replaced the speedometer with this GPS and currently use it for trolling speeds. In order to avoid possible electrical interference I wired it directly to the battery. The arrow indicating the boat's position on the GPS map is out of position; anywhere from 100-300 feet. I have moved the unit from the mount on the dash thinking that the window frame might interfere but it makes no difference. I called Garmin and they couldn't help. Any ideas?
