Grady White Tournament 192 Livewell

When the livewell pump is turned-off water drains out thru the livewell pump. Does any one know of a check valve that can be installed between the livewell pump out-put and the livewell tank to solve this problem?

Sure, there are several... Most marine retaliers would have a check valve that will do the job...<br /><br />Try a search in the Iboats Marine Mega Mall at the top of the screen... <br />If nothing there, try West Marine...

Sounds like youe need a vacuum breaker.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looked at iboats mega mall. They have a Conbraco Bronze Ball Cone Check Valve which looks like it can be adapded to any size livewell hose. Wonder if my livewell pump has enough pressure to open this valve? Thanks again for your help.

Another consideration if a check valve is used in a livewell, there will be a necessity to drain the check valve for winter storage in cold climates. Maybe I should bite the bullet and use a livewell timer switch to solve my problem but hate to drill holes necessary for installation!

ERR<br />You could also move you fill line above the water line. This puts more air in the water when filling and can also circulate water for fish. Works well in bait wells.
