I have my grandpas 1954 Mercury K 7.5h and it has not been started in a long time. I replaced the plugs and the lower end lube, also I rinced out the gas tank. Am I forgeting something???
Yes! Very important that you replace the water pump impeller. Failure to do so may cause insufficient water flow through the engine which causes an overheat condition and engine damage. Don't forget to add oil to the fuel. Don't know what the mix ratio is but probably 24:1.
