Re: greese fitting

Have you tried to remove the fitting to see if there is something blocking the grease? Which fitting is it?

You might have to unscrew the fitting and clean it, also inspect the tapped hole. You might find a hardened bit of grease that you can clean out.

Re: greese fitting

They usually just screw into a tapped hole. Use an open end wrench. It's a spring pushing a ball bearing against the opening from the inside.

they didn't grow there...lol.. remove , clean and replace with new fittings...only reason you clean them is to match up with new... ;)

Some are screwed in, some are pressed in.

searching my brain here...but I cannot remember ever finding a pressed in grease fitting on any vehicle or machine I have ever worked on ,... enlighten me as to what they have been used on...and the likelyhood of the OP's grease fitting to be pressed in ...

Re: greese fitting

If the base of it looks like a hex head bolt, it's screwed in & you can just remove it with an appropriately sized wrench as has been stated. If it's perfectly round with nothing to grab on to, it may be pressed, though I'm with Stachi & don't remember ever seeing a pressed fitting.

You can buy replacement fittings pretty cheaply in most hardware, automotive or marine stores or online with out much difficulty.

The front spindles on my snowmobile have pressed in fitting. I blew one out greasing it and had to tack weld it to keep in place. I know I?ve seen it a few times over the years.

You are right.
The one on the right is a pressed in fitting.
