I have a merc 5.0 with bravo 3. What grease is best for the one fitting in the outdrive? And I only see one fitting behind the engine where it meets the aft (where it connects). What is best for that fitting? (Same grease?) I am not sure what each is but do know they need grease. Any other fittings I'm missing? I also have to find where the steering cable needs to be oiled/greased. Winter is coming!! Thanks for the help!

Re: Grease help

I use any reputable brand name marine grease, whatever is on sale.

It doesn't really matter though, any grease is better than no grease.

Re: Grease help

i don't have a bravo drive. but i can read.
ya got more lub points than ya think.
go to the adults only sticky and see if ya can find the service manual that covers yours. #11 covers '88 thru 98' bravo drives. (maybe 28 covers newer bravo drives)

a quick look at 11 (section 1 for maint. under lub) and i see proper lub for pivot points is the same as my mc-1. mercruiser 2-4-c. the gimble brg. gets the same as mine too. mercursier ujoint and gimble brg. grease.

while any grease is better than none. there are multipule types that mercruiser specifies in their service manual. they also tell ya what and where to lub.
