I noticed that my trailer has some bearing grease oozing out the back onto the axel. What do I need to do to stop this?

Replace your seal and check to see if you overpressurized it. Can you use a grease gun on it?

Well I don't know if you need bearings/races but you definitely need to replace the seals. I would do both of them. Pull them and take them with you when you get your new ones. There are many that are close in size. You can check out the bearings/races when you're in there...

if it is leaking out, water is leaking in.

Full bearing service for peace of mind would be my recommendation, especially whith those symptoms. When was the last time the trailer was serviced ??

Re: Grease oozing out.

Thanks for the info. I don't know when the trailer was last serviced since I only bought this rig a month ago. To be on the safe side, I'm going to take everything apart and replace everything. I think this would be the wise move and give me sound piece of mind. I'll check everything a couple of times every year after that to insure that everthing is in tip top shape. I should have realized that water must be getting in if grease was getting out. I'd be some ticked off if I lost a hub on the expressway.
Thanks Again,
