Grease or no grease on spark plug wires at coils (88spl)

I have remnants of what looks like old dielectric grease on spark wires at coils. At first I just thought that was a good thing but now I wonder. PO must have put it on but not at spark plug.
I'm thinking I need to clean it up and go bare.
Any input on this matter?

IMHO seeing what the area you're in, I'd use the dielectric grease.

I use it. If nothing else it keeps the contacts from corroding.
