Grease tilt tube

I have a grease zert on my tilt tube and was going to grease it nothing wrong with it just routine maintence but wasnt sure what grease should I use I have some regular automotive grease in my grease gun now is there anything wrong with using it

You may use any grease. It is just a dumb bushing. I use boat trailer wheel bearing grease for everything. It is salt water resistant, and is good for chassis, bearings, bushings and most anything else.

You should use marine grease for all applications on the outboard. I have a small grease gun loaded with marine grease for the engine and trailer wheel bearings.

If you have dual cable steering, and there's a grease zerk on the front tube, DON'T grease it. (ask me how I know)
