Grease zerk in center of the axle stripped out,

The 1/16 thread zerk hole in the axle is stripped out, I bought a press in Zerk and tool and it's too loose to stay in. Ideas?

You can get zerks with larger/ smaller thread dia's. If your's is a smaller, might the bigger version work ?

Those tiny threads are easy to strip if your grease gun is holding onto the fitting for dear life. As airshot said, just get a bigger press zerk fitting and tap her into place.

I found a longer threaded 1/4x28 Zerk at NAPA, it fit fine, Fixed!
