Greasing the Gimbal

I do it yearly. I grease it after I pull the drive while turning it by hand so I can check it for smooth movement.

I probably do it more than enough then, though I haven't in the last couple of times out.

I took it out for the last trip of the season yesterday, mainly to circulate some Sta-bil through the carb, and thought I picked up just a hint of a different sound than I remember from the back, like a very mild whine.

I could be just paranoid. I also imagined it was just a little rough at cruise (3-3.5k). That was probably the little ripples all over the surface (light wind), but I felt it as a light vibration in the seat and steering wheel. I hit 46+ briefly coming back in, so something was right about it.
