I have a 1998 Yamaha 115 2 stroke. I'm having the same problem as above. It is of thick black grease consistency and is coming out the prop exhaust. Thanks Hurley

Hurleyg Gave you a new topic after you posted in a thread that is old and for a 4 stroke Yammy - Too different to compare.

Please read the Help Tip on top of the page. Thanks.

How does the motor run? Some unburned 2 stroke oil coming out of the exhaust is normal.

Welcome, If this two stroke motor is new to you, they have a very oily exhaust, why, because 50-1 is for WOT, if your not going WOT all the fuel doesn't get burned, some of it get recirculated but not all of it. Smokey , some people say they stink, I would agree that, ,,
If this is not a new problem ,you don't have to fix it., Welcome to two stroke boating.
You could buy 100% synthetic two stroke oil, a lot less smoky, better for the environment, of course it costs more, walmart has a partial synthetic yellow jug, it's less than 100% syn, it's less smoky/stinky than non syn.

Usually normal for a 2 srk to do that especially if it was running on muffs. Give it a sniff if it smells like fuel probably normal. Which 115 do you have is it oil injected. Have you run it on the lake yet.
