Great Deal on Mercury Upper Water Pump Housing

I re-read the forum rules and this post appears to be acceptable. Let me know if it's not.
I stumbled across a really great deal at iBoats for a water pump upper housing for $2.99. Usually around $24. The best part is iBoats shipping charges are very reasonable.

This housing is Sierra #18-3116. Mercury #46-96148T.
Not sure if it has seals but they usually do.
iBoats site says this fits most newer Mercs 75hp and up.

Does not fit my '72 Merc 1150.

Hey, dont know if you have figured it out yet or not but they have one to fit your 115, and its 2.99. In fact it looks as though most all the sierra brand are 2.99. That indeed is a good deal. Wish I would have had one to replace when I had the LU off a couple of weeks ago, mine was still good, but at that price it would be hard not to go ahead and replace.

My Merc is below the 4694237 serial number listed on iBoats for the 18-3116.
Later investigation revealed that the 3116 does, in fact, fit earlier serial numbers, along with my 1150.

It appears this morning that all the water pump housing prices are back to normal.
The sale may have only been for Sat and Sun.
Anyway, too late now.
